Clayton County Register, Wed., 25 Oct. 1939.

Monona - Mrs. Mary Johanningmeier, aged 73, died Thursday morning at her home here. Funeral services were held at one-thirty, Saturday afternoon, from the Lutheran church, and burial was made in the Eno cemetery.

Surviving her, besides the widow, Charles Johanningmeier, are one daughter, Florence (Mrs. Elmer Sheffert), of Monona; seven sons, William, Wesley, Alvin, Roy, Arlow and Werner Johanningmeier, all of Monona, and Elmer Johanningmeier of Dbuque; thirty grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three brothers and three sisters also survive her, namely: John, August, and Henry Schrader, Mrs. Anna Garms, Mrs. Fred Neverman and Mrs. Charley Doering.
