FRED J. BEHRENS
Funeral services for Fred J. Behrens, 78, life long resident of Clayton county, who died at his home in Littleport, Jan. 6, were held at the Witt funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the Garnavillo cemetery at Garnavillo.
Fred Behrens, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Behrens, was born at Guttenberg, Mar. 12, 1865, where he grew to manhood. On Mar. 19, 1908, at Elkader, he was united in marriage to Bertha Sammon, nee Finkenkeller. The couple lived on a farm near Communia until 1912, whe [sic] they moved munia [sic] until 1912, when they moved their home. [sic]
He is survived by his wife and two stepchildren, Elmer Sammon of Kansas and Agnes Holmes of Arkansas.
Pall bearers were Kenneth Ruegnitz, Raymond Ruegnitz, Roy Ruegnitz, William Refle and Harry Refle.
