Died at his residence near Elkport, September 2nd, 1866, David B. Thayer, aged 47 years.

Mr. Thayer was a resident of Clayton Co., for twelve years, a good citizen, kind neighbor and affectionate husband and father. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years and died in the Christian faith, with full hopes of realizing the long promised reward.

The neighbors and friends heartily sympathize with this widow and two sons for their early loss of a kind father and affectionate husband. May they so live, and die, in the true faith, that warrants a re-union where parting is no more.
