A Father's Day outing at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, brought tragedy to the Frayne Wiskus family of Edgewood, when two year old Frayne Wiskus, Jr. lost his life when he slipped into three feet of water in the Mississippi River and was not notices by other members of the party.
The accident occurred about 6:00 p.m. Sunday as Mr. Wiskus had gone fishing, while Mrs. Wiskus and a five year old daughter, Charlene, remained with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mierson of Strawberry Point.
When Mr. Mierson left to jack up a camper, it was thought by others that the tot had gone with him. It was a short time later that the little boy's body was seen in the river.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Frayne is survived by another set of grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wiskus of Edgewood, and his great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Elledge, also of Edgewood.
