Died, of Diphtheria, at Elkader, Iowa on the 6th of April, 1861, Addy Ralph, son of Ralph and Sarah Campbell, aged 3 years, 10 months and 2 weeks.

Thou art gone, dear Addy,

To thy home thy holy rest

From friends who fondly loved thee,

To the mansions of the blest.

Thy spirit freed, dear Addy,

From sorrow, pain and care,

Thou art gone to the purer clime,

To meet thy father there.

We’ll not mourn thee, dear Addy,

For our loss is your gain;

But we’ll cherish thy memory,

While life itself remain.
