Mrs. Blodget Passes Away.
On Monday evening, Nov. 22, 1920, at her home in this city occurred the death of Mrs. Joseph Blodget, nee Ernestine Niehaus, after a lingering illness and at the age of 26 years, 6 months and 7 days. Mrs. Blodget was born in Jefferson township, Clayton County, Iowa, on May 15, 1894, as a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Niehaus. She was married at Dubuque on October 20, 1915, to Mr. Joseph Blodget, returning at once to Guttenberg with her husband, where she lived until her death. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, always ready with heart and hand to help those in need, which won her many warm friends and she will be remembered by all. She was also a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. All that could be done was done for her, but all to no avail. She is survived by her husband, two little daughters, Eunice and Ivanelle, at home, her parents, four brothers, Ernst, Fred, Edward and Wm. Niehaus, all of Jefferson township, two sisters, Mrs. Ida Bowman, of Jefferson township, Mrs. Florence Keehner, of near McGregor, and numerous other relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by all, especially in her home. Funeral services were held at her late home in this city on Wednesday morning. Rev. J. Janzig conducted funeral services. Interment was made in the City Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.
