Charles Jungk Dead.
On Saturday morning, November 20, 1920, at about 5:30 o’clock at his home in this city occurred the death of Charles Jungk, after a lingering illness and at the age of 50 years, 1 month and 19 days. Deceased was born at Lansing, Iowa, on October 1, 1870, and came to Guttenberg, Iowa, in the year 1875 with his parents to reside, where he lived until his death. He was married at Guttenberg, Iowa, November 26, 1902, to Miss Emma Duwe, who preceded him in death on December 5, 1911. Mr. Jungk was a kind and true father, brother and friend; and he was an ambitious man during his entire life, of late years being successfully engaged in farming with his brother, William Jougk [sic], in Jefferson township. His greatest pleasure in life was to do kind acts for his family and friends. He was a patient sufferer during his entire illness and had not given up hopes for recovery until the Angel of Death called him to the other world, where there is no more suffering, but joy and happiness forever. He was also a faiihful [sic] and worthy member of New Leaf Camp No. 537, M. W. A. His untimely death is deeply mourned by three daughters, Evelyn, Viola and Lucile Jungk, all at home, three brothers, William, Henry and George Jungk, all of Guttenberg, one sister, Miss Anna Jungk, of Guttenberg, and many other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. He was a man of a pleasing personality, which won him many warm friends during his life, and by whom he will not be forgotten. The funeral was held on last Tuesday afternoon, and was largely attended, which shoed that he was held in high regard by all who knew him. Interment was made in the City Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by the Woodman Order.
