Mrs. Fred Tackman, 66, Dies Saturday after 3 Years of Ill Health
Mrs. Fred Tackman died in her home here Saturday following an illness of more than three years. She was 66 years of age.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in St. Paul’s Lutheran church, directed by the Rev. H. C. Coovert. Burial was in City cemetery.
Mrs. Tackman was born on a farm near Clayton Oct. 10, 1872, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fehlhafer. Her maiden name was Carolina Maria.
Married Fred TackmanShe lived on the parental farm until Nov. 17, 1897, when she was married to Fred Tackman. They settled on a farm north of Guttenberg, and lived there until February, 1929, when they retired from farming and moved to Guttenberg.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Herbert and Delbert of Guttenberg and Emil of Clayton; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Seidel and Mrs. Irene Block of Guttenberg; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schutte of Guttenberg and Mrs. Bertha Dahlstrom of Clark, S. D.; three brothers, Charles Fehlhafer of Garnavillo, Ed Fehlhafer of Garber and Fred Fehlhafer of Long Beach, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
One brother, Herman Fehlhafer, preceded her in death.
