Second Incubator Baby in Clayton County Dies.

Clayton county's second incubator baby born within the last two months, died last Thursday morning at 0 o'clock. It was the child of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Amling of Garbor and it was born at the home of Mrs. Amling's mother, Mrs. Kafer at Garnavillo, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. It was a premature birth and the baby was ordered placed into the incubator furnished by the state department of health by the attending physician by Dr. Palmer of Guttenberg. The baby died of complications, it was reported by Marguerite Kenneally county nurse, who was in charge of the case.

Per death certificate (familysearch) his name was Gerald Leo, born premature (6 mo. pregnancy), 07/21/1942-07/23/1942; s/o Leo & Alberta (Kafer).
