Died very suddenly in Mallory Township, Clayton County, on the 15th, March, 1855, Mrs. Sally, wife of Hugh Guinn, formerly of Mifflin County, Pa., aged 44 years 4 months and 22 days.
She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for the last 26 years and through the interposition of Providence it mourns the loss of one of its brightest luminaires. A fond husband, an only sister and five children are left to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife, sister and mother.
Her mortal remains, followed by a large number of friends and relatives, we consigned to their earthly resting place in Colesburgh, on Friday the 16th. The death of this estimable lady leaves a void in her family which will be felt for years to come, and a still greater one to the poor and weary who on so many occasions realized that unostentatious charity from her hand which “Droppeth like the gentle dew from Heaven Upon the plain beneath.”
Her neighbors too - and who was not her neighbor?- have lost one whose goodness of heart and untiring devotion in the hour of need could not be excelled by nearer and dearer friends. Though her form is now confined within the narrow precincts of the tomb, her voice is no longer heard where it so often brought consolation, yet will her memory be cherished for many years to come by those who knew and truly loved her for these virtues that adorn the unassuming Christian.
