Died at Monona on the 14th, March, 1855, Benjamin A. Brown, son of John H. and Sarah Brown, aged 2 years, 9 months and 7 days.

Seldom do we behold the saying more truly verified, that ‘death loves a shining mark,” than in this event. He was a beautiful child, and his boyish sayings and sports gave evidence that an intellect of no common order was his. The flower has faded forever form our view, but will bloom again in a land of fadeless beauty and perpetual spring.
