The flu has claimed another from Volga. May Sloan passed away Thursday noon. The family has the sympathy of all in this hour of need.

Death again entered the Sam Sloan home on Friday, this time taking their second son Ray. They certainly have the sympathy of the entire community.

Lilius May Sloan was born in Highland, Clayton county, Iowa, October 21, 1899 and departed this life February 20, 1919.
Theodore Raymond Sloan was born in Highland, Clayton county, Iowa, March 21, 1902 and departed this life February 21, 1919.
They are survived by both parents, one brother William and one sister, Margaret.
May and Ray have passed on into the Heavenly Father's care.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes
And there shall be no more death [illegible], sorrow or crying
Neither shall there be any more pain
For the former things have passed away."Brief services were held at the house and cemetery, conducted by Rev. W.H. Smith. They were laid side by side in a double grave in Hill Crest Cemetery on Sunday afternoon.
