Died on Friday, March 23, 1894, at the age of 80 years and 6 days, Wuebke Helena Hedeman, nee, Bruns, after an illness of only one week.
Mrs. Hedeman, was born in Zwischenahn, Oldenburg, Germany, March 17, 1814. She was married to J. F. G. (Fred) Hedeman, who died last Thanksgiving day, on Sept. 27, 1842, and immediately after their marriage came to the country, where after living a few years in Ill., they came to Clayton county and settled on the farm where she made her home until the day of her death.
Mrs. Hedeman was of quiet disposition, kind and indulgent. Her children of whom 5 mourn her death; found in her a mother who anticipated their every wish.
She had those Christian qualities which prompted her to find true happiness in relieving the sorrows and burdens of all who sought her counsel. In the faith she was the true mother, watching with untiring zeal for the welfare of her family.
To her husband with whom for over half a century she jointly traveled over life’s rugged path, she was a faithful wife, a true helpmate; and when death finally severed the cord and took him from her side, she bowed submissively to the inevitable, with a firm conviction that she would soon be reunited with him in that world where death comes no more.
Her remains were interred at the new cemetery, Rev. Ziemer of Ceres officiating.
