Elizabeth Palm Ihde
Wednesday afternoon December 9th, 1903, occurred the death of Elizabeth Palm; wife of Joachim Ihde after a lingering sickness, at the age of 78 years, 18 days. She was born in Kummer, Germany Nov. 21, 1825. On April 9, 1861 she was united in marriage at Restow, Germany to Joachim Ihde, coming to this country in the same year. At first settling on a farm in Read township, thence living near Garnavillo, and for the past 12 years a resident of this village.
She was the mother of five children, four of whom namely, Mrs. Fred Nobbmann of Pleasant Dale, Neb., Mrs. Henry Luehson, August and William Ihde of this place, together with an aged father, mourn their loss.
The funeral occurred Saturday afternoon, December 12th by Rev. Karl Braun, interment in the new cemetery. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
