At her home in Highland township on Monday evening, Nov. 17th, 1884, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Burke, aged about 47 years.

The death of Mrs. Burke, was very sudden. She was in town Sunday, and on Monday, up to the hour of retiring was apparently enjoying her usual health. Shortly after going to bed her son George heard her calling him, getting up found her suffering with a severe cough and spitting blood. He assisted her back to her bed, upon which she fell, and in a few minutes dead. The cause of her death is said to have been heart disease.

She leaves seven sons and two daughters to mourn her death. May she rest in peace.

The funeral occurs from the Catholic church in this place today.
