At his home in Highland township, on Wednesday, Nov. 19th, 1884, occurred the death of Joseph B. Quigley, aged 72 years.

Deceased was one of the earliest settlers of Clayton county, having come here about 1836. He took up his residence in Highland township, and by industry and application to his business, amassed quite a competency. His home in Highland is one of the finest farm residences in the county.

He leaves a son, Robert, who resides in McGregor. The funeral occurred Friday, Nov.22nd, his remains being followed to their last resting place by a large number of his neighbors and friends.
