At the home of her son, in Cox Creek township, last Thursday evening, February 21st, 1884, occurred the death of Mrs. Catharine Connerton; aged nearly 75 years.

Mrs. C’s., death was very sudden and entirely unexpected, as she was in her usual health, and was engaged preparing supper, when, without any warning she dropped on the floor and before anyone could reach her, the spirit and flown to its eternal home. Such was the ending of a long and useful life.

Mrs. C., was a native of Ireland, having been born in the county Westmaith, on May 19th, 1800. She had been a resident of Clayton county for 29 years, and had many friends who will sincerely mourn her loss. But two children are living, Joseph Connerton, with whom she was living, and Mrs. Patrick Geraghty, of Elkader. The funeral occurred on Saturday, at Littleport, and was quite largely attended.
