Christopher Boden was born in County Kildare, Ireland, in 1822. In 1843, he emigrated to this country, and settled at Denton, Ohio, where he found employment on the railroad.
In 1848 he came west and married Dora Boilan at Holy Cross in Dubuque county. Shortly afterwards he came to Clayton county and settled on the farm which is still occupied by the family.
While here the children, two boys and one girl, were born, of whom Anna is a nun in Mercy hospital, Dubuque. The boys, Henry and John, are still at home.
Mr. Boden has been in very poor health for several years, and suffered a severe relapse last week, from the effects of which he died Monday, Jan. 14, 1895. His remains were interred today at the Catholic cemetery, Rev. Father Raedler officiating.
