Strawberry Point, Ia., Nov. 17 - Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Kirkpatrick were held at the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Thomas J. Elwick, pastor of the M.E. church. The pallbearers were George Marsh, J.B. King, Alex Porter, John Hesner, M.G. Arnold and L.W. Preston. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Wiltse and was born at Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada, March 25, 1838. She died at the home last Wednesday at the age of 92.
When a young girl she came to Strawberry Point and lived in the family of her cousin, Dr. Alexander Wiltse. On Oct. 30, 1895, she was united in marriage to John D. Kirkpatrick at Independence, Ia. Mr. Kirkpatrick preceded her in death on March 31, 1929.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Wiltse, who has made his home with her for the past ten years; one sister, Hulda, Los Angeles, Cal.; a cousin, Mrs. Sophia Malone, Strawberry Point, and two step-children, C.B. Kirkpatrick, Marion, and Mrs. Myrtle Smith, Hamilton, N.Y.
