McGregor, Ia., Nov. 15 - Gill church, prominent business man of McGregor, died at Colonial hospital, Rochester, Minn., at 5 o'clock Saturday morning following an operation for infected kidney. The body will be brought to McGregor and funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Congregational church.

Mr. Church is survived by his widow, and one sister, Mrs. Emil Gerich. This is the second time in less than three months that the Church store, one of the oldest businesses in McGregor, has been closed by death. Mr. Church's mother, who with her husband started the store 60 years ago, died Sept. 1 at the age of 80 years in the home which is in the same building.

Both Mrs. Church and her son had lived there all their lives. She was brought to the location as a baby by her parents in a covered wagon in 1851.

~Notes: He was the son of Gilbert & Sarah (Wynne) Church; and the husband of Elizabeth. His gravestone in Pleasant Grove cemetery is inscribed Gilbert Richard Church, March 13, 1872-November 15, 1930.
