Funeral services for Mrs. Harril B. Larson were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 21, and at the Highland church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A.O. Nesset officiated. Mrs. Carl Torkelson sang, "That Beautiful Land" and "God Will Take Care of You". Mr. Adolph Benson sang, "Some Day He'll Make It Plain." Burial was in the Highland cemetery.

Dorothy Evelyn Ernst, the daughter of Roy and Eva Ernst, was born February 10, 1915 at Sloan, Iowa and died November 18, 1950 at the University hospital in Iowa City. At the age of four she moved with her parents to Iroquois, South Dakota and later to Oto, Iowa. After several years they returned to Sloan where Dorothy graduated from high school with the class of 1933. In March of 1937 the family moved to Clayton county, Iowa and settled on a farm known as the B.M. Benson farm in Highland township, and which had since been her home.

On December 18, 1937 she was united in marriage to Harril B. Larson and to this union, five children were born, Evelyn Ione, now 11 years old; Leroy Bernard, age 9; Kathleen marie, 4 years old; and twins Larry Lee and Laura Rae, 9 months old. These were the center of her delight and care and she personally took care of their needs until the morning she left for the hospital.

She was confirmed in July 1946 with a class of eight adults in the Highland Lutheran church, of which she was a faithful member. She was also an active member of the Ladies Mission and Dorcas Societies of that church and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Sunday, November 5, she attended church with her family as usual and afterwards they went to the home of her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.H. Larson, for dinner and to spend the rest of the day.

She was taken to the University hospital at Iowa City Wednesday, where her illness was diagnosed as Bulbar Polio. Friday afternoon, November 10, she passed into a coma from which she never rallied. She died at 9:30 Saturday evening, November 18, 1950, and had reached the age of 35 years, 9 months and [illegible] days.

[the type print becomes mostly illegible at this point, several survivors being listed]
