Funeral services were held for Mrs. Sarah Peterson at the Norway church at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, Nov. 25. The Rev. S.J. Strandjord officiated.
Mrs. Peterson died at 6:20, November 22, 1950 at the home of her son, Thomas from the complications of a bone fracture on April 2, and the infirmities of old age. She had reached the age of 80 years, one month and one day.
She was the daughter of Knudt and Ledsie Houg and was born Oct. 21, 1870, in Marion township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church.
On March 7, 1896 she was united in marriage to Peter T. Peterson and resided on a farm in Wagner township until her death. She was an active member of the Norway church, the Ladies Aid, and other community interests.
Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1914.
She is survived by her three children, Mrs. Ben Fuelling, Thomas on the home place and Clarence, who lives in Dubuque, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Gurine Kjosa, Elgin, Mrs. Caroline Kjosa, Farmersburg.
Her three brothers, Carl, Christ and Ole Houg, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were the five grandsons, Wayne Peterson, Harold Peterson, Lorimer Fuelling, Freddie Peterson, Peter Peterson, also her nephew, Donald Houg.
Flower girls were her granddughters, Sara Mae Fuelling, Mavis Peterson and Norma Jean Peterson.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were: nephews, Phillip Peterson and Ted Peterson from Buxton, N.D.
