Strawberry Point- Thomas R. Jewell, 90, for half a century a resident of this vicinity, was found dead in bed at his home Friday morning.

Born Oct. 9, 1860 at Scales Mound, Ill., he came to Strawberry Point in 1900, locating on a farm south of town. The farm is now occupied by his sons. In recent years Mr. Jewell made a hobby of raising flowers and fishing.

Surviving him are two sons and three daughters. His wife, two sons and a daughter preceded him in death. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist church here by the Rev. Wayne Carlson.
