Elkader- Martin Kruse, 51, died Sunday. Services Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Witt funeral chapel, Elkader, and at 2 p.m. in Emanuel Lutheran church, Elkport. Burial at Elkport.

Funeral services for Martin Kruse, 50, of near Garber were held at the Witt Funeral Chapel at 1 o'clock this afternoon and at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Elkport, the Rev. W.G. Weber officiating. Burial was in the Elkport cemetery.

Mr. Kruse was found dead in the yard of his home last Sunday afternoon by relatives who had come to visit him. Coroner E.W. Tuecke and Sheriff Forrest Fischer who investigated, said death was due to a heart attack.

A shepherd dog which belonged to Kruse was still guarding his master's body when authorities arrived, though Tuecke estimated the man had been dead for about six hours.
