Oliver Louis Herman Mueller was born in Garnavillo Township, October 12, 1895.
As a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, he served ten years on the church council and for the duration of this period was an officer of the congregation.
Mr. Mueller lived his entire life on the farm where he was born and where he diligently and successfully engaged in the business of farming. His interest and concern for community affairs is evident in that he served as a school board member prior to consolidation; that he was one of the first members and officers of the Garnavillo Community Fire Company; and that at the time of his death he was a member of the board of directors of the Rural Electric Co-operative.
Mr. Mueller died suddenly and unexpectedly Friday morning at 10:15, Feb. 7, 1964. He had attained the age of 68 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Monday, Feb. 10, 1964, with the Rev. L.C. Urlaub officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery.
Pallbearers were Emil Troester, Raymond Werges Jr., Keith Mohning, Donald Dettman, Herbert Koopman and Clarence Stade.
He was preceded in death by his parents. F. Henry Mueller in 1912, and Mrs. Justina Mueller, nee Rueter, in 1916, and by two sisters, Miss Viola Mueller in 1934 and Mrs. John Biederman in 1962.
He is survived by a brother Valmah, and a sister Miss Marie Mueller, both of Garnavillo; one niece, four nephews, numerous other relatives, and many friends.
