Strawberry Point- James Sauerbry, 75, died at his farm home Tuesday evening following a heart attack.
He was the son of Christian and Louise (Belford) Sauerbry, born near Strawberry Point Dec. 17, 1874. On March 1, 1899, he was married at Greeley to Myra Wandell, of Strawberry Point, and they have farmed in this community since. He was a member of the Congregational church, the Masons and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. A. F. Weihs (Floy), Waukon; a grandson, Gordon Weihs; five sisters, Mrs. Effie Pugh, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Bert Smith, Fayette; Mrs. Loyl Alfree, Beaverton, Oregon; Mrs. Vincent Bodman, Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Arnold Beguhn, Boone, Ia.; and three brothers, George, Oelwein; Ralph, Elyria, Ohio, and Edward, Bremerton, Wash. Three brothers, Charles, John and Frank, preceded him in death.
Funeral services are tentatively set for 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Congregational church with the Rev. William Seeley, pastor of the Christian church at Arlington, officiating. Burial will be in the Strawberry Point Cemetery.
