Mueller, Dorthea (Palas) 1828-1909

Dorthea Palas was born in Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany on June 10th, 1828 and died at her home in Garnavillo April 20th, 1909, at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 10 days, after a week’s illness with pneumonia.

She was married to Louis Mueller in 1853. They came to America in the same year locating at Guttenberg where they lived 12 years. They then moved to Farmersburg Township, and then to Garnavillo where they have since lived.

She leaves to mourn her death seven children, Mrs. Julius Tuecke, Garnavillo; Louis Mueller, Farmersburg; John Mueller, Clayton; Mrs. Geo. Pahlas, Mrs. Henry Pahlas, Mrs. Aug. Hempler, Garnavillo, and Mrs. Frank Turner, Fonda, and an aged brother Henry Palas of Minnesota.

Mrs. Mueller has for years been identified with the church, and church work. She was a true Christian and lived a life in harmony with her belief. Friends gathered at the home Friday, April 23, at 1:00 o’clock where a short service was held. The remains were taken to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where services were held at 2:00 o’clock. Interment was made in the new cemetery.
