McGregor- Two teen-agers were killed and a third injured in an automobile accident Sunday on highway 13 a mile north of Marquette.
Shirley McIntosh, 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. McIntosh of Marquette, was killed instantly. Dale Williams, 17, son of Mrs. Margaret Williams of Platteville, Wis., died several hours after the crash in the McGregor hospital.
Frank Davies Jr., 17, of McGregor, driver of the car, suffered minor injuries.
Dale Williams and his mother were visiting in the Davies home here. Dale accompanied young Davies while Davies was making his morning delivery of newspapers in McGregor in his father's car.
After the papers had been delivered, the boys drove to Marquette and picked up Shirley for a ride. They were returning to Marquette about 10 a.m. when the car struck a guard rail, bounded 20 feet and hit another rail. The right door of the two-door sedan swung open and Shirley and Dale were hurled across the highway and against a hillside.
An unidentified Cedar Rapids motorist came upon the accident scene and raced to Marquette to report it. An ambulance took Williams to the hospital. Shirley's body was taken to the Pilkington Funeral Home.
Shirley was a freshman at Marquette High School. She was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Chicago. The McIntosh family moved to Marquette from Chicago four years ago.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is survived by two brothers, Louis, 13, and Willard, 11. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Marquette Methodist church. Burial will be made in the McGregor cemetery.
