Downey, Johanna (Geaghan) 1867-1930

Elkader, Ia., Nov. 5 - A solemn mass of requiem was read in St. Joseph's church Tuesday morning for Mrs. Johanna Downey. Rev. J.P. Taken, pastor, was celebrant; Rev. D.P. Cregan, Volga City, deacon, Rev. John Hammel, Edgewood, subdeacon. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

The casket was supported by Edmond Curran, Frank Uriell, Dr. F.J. Kriebs, J.K. Molumby, John Schacherer, William Henry.

Mrs. Downey, who died last Saturday, is survived by three daughters, Misses Anna and Stella, Cedar Falls; Katherine, Emmetsburg; and seven sons, Walter, John, James, Joseph, Harley and Michael, all of Elkader; Georg, Edgewood and seven grandchildren.
