Garnavillo- JoAnn Lucille Wille, 68, of rural Garnavillo, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, by Monsignor John McClean. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Guttenberg. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

She was born Oct. 3, 1933, near Luxemburg, and was a daughter of the late Arnold and Regina (Ulbrich) Bries. JoAnn graduated from St. Bonifice High School in 1951, farmed with her family and was a bookkeeper and homemaker for many years.

On Aug. 28, 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald Wille at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. After her marriage, JoAnn worked with Donald and their children on the family farm and also served as bookkeeper for their business.

JoAnn greatly enjoyed family gatherings, shopping with her girls, watching her grandchildren at play, gardening and traveling, and she was always ready for a good game of Euchre.

Her deep religious convictions were expressed in a lifetime of devotion to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg, where she was a very active parishioner. Her contributions included volunteering for St. Mary's School, the Annual Fall Festival and many other capacities.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Roy) Kann and Jane (Tom) Augustyn, both of Guttenberg, and Doris (John) Moyna of Elkader; eight sons, Dale (Mary) Wille of Metamora, Ill., Daniel (Shanna) Wille of Marion, Daryl Wille and Leo (Kathy) Wille, both of Garnavillo, Loren (Karin) Wille of New Holstein, Wis., Glenn Wille and Heather Coloni of Council Bluffs, Lee Wille of Maxwell and Alan (Jenny) Wille of Ankeny; 22 grandchildren; three sisters, Imogene (Carl) Feldman of Dyersville, Thelma (David) Oberbroeckling of New Vienna and Carol (John) Hartmann of Guttenberg; 12 brothers, Leroy (Verna) Bries of Garnavillo, Roger (Cindy) Bries of Manchester, Jim (Darlene) Bries of Guttenberg, Virgil (Janice) Bries of Luxemburg, Kenny (Lois) Bries of Dyersville, Mike (Marita) Bries of New Vienna, Elmer (Theresa) Bries of Monona, Charles (Mary) Bries of St. Olaf, Ronnie (Leann) Bries, Gerry (Karen) Bries and Arnie (Joyce) Bries, all of Dyersville, and Harry (Lois) Bries of Guttenberg.

She was met at Heaven's gate by her savior, her parents and a grandson, Andrew Augustyn.
