Strawberry Point: George W. Bowers, 78, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Strawberry Point, died Tuesday morning in Naples Community Hospital. Memorial services will be at a later date in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point.

Survivors include his wife, Maybelle; two daughters, Marilyn Behrens of Mesa, Ariz., and Jacquie McTaggart of Independence; and a sister, Donna Hill of Camp Verde, Ariz.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Anna; and a brother, Robert.
