Elkader- Bernard Wayne Puffett, 47, of Duluth, Minn., formerly of Elkader, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, in his home of renal kidney cancer. Graveside services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Mederville Cemetery, rural Elkader, by Pastor Rusty Phillips. Arrangements with Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader.
Survivors include a daughter, Candice, and a son, Brock, both of Independence; his mother, Edith Lerch of Elkader; his father, Charles Puffett of Wadena; a sister, Vicki Koprowski of Brighton, Colo.; two half sisters, Paula Parker of Garber and Kerry Schuldt of Volga; a stepsister, Linda Vitek of Cedar Rapids; and three stepbrothers, Larry Lerch of Elkader, Lonny Lerch of Cedar Rapids and Loren Lerch of Port Orchard, Wash.
Following services, a lunch and time for fellowship will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader.
Bernard prefers memorials to Renal Cell Cancer research.
