Julia Caroline Olson Loftsgard was born June 26, 1881, the daughter of Aslak and Gro Nestebo Olson. She died following a brief illness at the Postville hospital on April 2 at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Loftsgard lived on a farm east of Elgin, moving to town six and one half years ago. Josie Jenson has been her companion during this time. She was baptized and confirmed at the Norway Lutheran Church.

May 2, 1904, she was united in marriage to Theodore T. Loftsgard. to this union three children were born, Jenetta (Mrs. Keith Brainard), Postville, Orven, Elgin, and Millard who died at the age of ten. Also Emma Nesteby (Mrs. Leslie Lantz), Elkader, who spent her childhood dayys in the Loftsgard home.

Her husband, son, two sisters and seven brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors besides her children are ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, April __, at 2 p.m. at the Marion Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery, with Pastor Gross officiating. Pallbearers were Tilpher Bilden, Myron Houg, Lloyd Reierson, Joe Reierson, Emory Landsgard and Kenneth Mork.

The Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, was in charge of arrangements.
