Strawberry Point, Ia., Jan 14 - Funeral services for John Lingard, who died Sunday morning were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. church, conducted by the Rev. T.J. Elwick. The pallbearers were: Wm. Halsted, Fred Miller, Peter Hanson, Chas. Easton, Henry Kaberle and Chas. Baumgartner. Interment was made in the local cemetery.

Mr. Lingard was born in England in 1850. He was married to Miss Eliza Barton in 1875, in England, where they lived for about three years before coming to America. He first settled near Rickardsville in Dubuque county, and came to this place in 1903.

Besides his widow he his survived by six children, Mrs. Thirsa Koehler, Clinton; Wm. Lingard, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Wm. Prussel, Mrs. Jas. Alderson, Hilbert Lingard and Mrs. Ed. Sherman, all of Strawberry Point; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
