Death claimed Samuel Thompson Smith at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alfred Rudd, 114 West Fourth street, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. He had been ill a long time.
The body is at the Haudenshield funeral home, where services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Methodist cemetery in Asbury.
Mr. Smith, the son of the late Rev. James Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio., was born in Clayton, Iowa, Nov. 1, seventy-nine years ago, and had made his home in this city for the past sixty years. Until nineteen years ago, when he retired, he was employed at the Dubuque Boat and Boiler Works.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Rudd, this city, a son, James William Smith, Blackfoot, Idaho, a nephew, Robert Smith, Dubuque, and a niece, Mrs. Etta Rogers, Dubuque, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Smith attended the Methodist church.
