Clarence Wahls Services Thursday
Services were held Thursday, July 1, at St. Paul Lutheran church, Postville, for Clarence E. Wahls, 70. He died Tuesday, June 29 at Community Memorial Hospital.
Officiating was Rev. Walter Otto III, assistant pastor at St. Paul. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
Clarence Ernest Wahls, son of Fred and Etta Boller Wahls, was born in Farmersburg township, Clayton county, Feb. 25, 1901. He was baptized April 28, 1901 at St. Johns Lutheran church, Farmersburg and confirmed in the same church April 5, 1914.
He was married to Selma Blum at Elkader, April 20, 1927. The couple lived on farms near Farmersburg, Monona and Postville until 1948, when they moved to Postville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Irwin.
Survivors include his wife, Selma, a foster son, Laraldo, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Milo (Elvera) Fuelling, Guttenberg and Mrs. Arno (Hortense) Funk, St. Olaf.
