Q.A. Sloan, a prominent business man, of McGregor, died Monday evening, after a brief illness, aged 72 years.
He was a veteran of the Civil War and stood very high in the estimation of the people wherever known, and will be missed and mourned in business, church and social circles.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Notes: DOD was 3/05/1916. Quincy A. Sloan served in Co. C, 74th IL Inf. during the Civil War. He is buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery, McGregor, as is his wife Minerva nee Matthews.
