Elkader-- Dr. Robert L. Morse, 61, a prominent Elkader dentist, died at a Rochester, Minn., hospital yesterday noon. He had been rushed to the hospital last Tuesday due to internal hemorrhaging.

A former Elkader school board member, Morse had practiced in Elkader for the past 38 years. He was born in Austin, Minn., but had lived in Elkader the majority of his life.

Surviving are his wife and a daughter, Janet. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Congregational church in Elkader. Burial will be made in the Eastside Cemetery.

The body is at the Witt Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Dr. R. L. Morse were held at the Congregational Christian church, Elkader, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon April 6, 1953. The Rev. Will Richards officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Dr. R. L. Morse died in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., shortly before noon on Friday April 3, 1953, where he had been taken the previous Tuesday. He had been in ailing health for the past six years.

Robert Lester Morse, the son of Joseph and Katherine Rienow Morse, was born at Austin, Minn., May 25, 1892. When a small child he moved with his parents to Waseca, Minn., where he received his early education. In 1907 he came to Elkader to make his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Morse. He attended the Elkader high school and graduated with the class of 1911. He attended the University of Iowa and received his degree from the college of dentistry in 1914. Following his graduation he spent six months in Waukon in partnership with Dr. Stout. In January, 1915, he opened an office of his own in Elkader where he continued to practice until time of his death.

On November 10, 1915, he was united in marriage to Grace P. Leibrock. They have one daughter Janet Louise at home.

He was a member of the Congregational Christian church, Elkader, he sang in the choir and served as deacon of the church for many years. Dr. Morse was a past master of the Elkader Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 72. He also served on the Elkader Board of Education for a number of years. He was a member of the Dental association, a life member of Iowa State Dental Society, the State University of Iowa Alumni association, and of Psi Omega fraternity. Surviving besides his wife and daughter is a brother Lyle, in California.

His parents and a brother Bertrum preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Dr. L. A. Meder, Orlando Bailey, H. H. Hall, Elmer Moser, Glen Gifford and H. J. Conard.

Relatives from a distance who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Leibrock and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. William Leibrock, all of Wauwatosa, Wis.; Albert Habhab, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Kent, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Ruth Evans, Boone, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leibrock, Olin, Iowa; Herbert Engel and sons John and Billy, Willmette, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Engelhardt, St. Olaf; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wolf, Edgewood.
