Guttenberg-- David J. Hess, 40, died Tuesday morning in Finley Hospital, Dubuque, following a long illness. He worked as a homebuilder for Trademark Homes of Guttenberg.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; a son Tony, and a daughter, Jody, both at home; his father, Dwain of Guttenberg; a brother, John, of Garnavillo; and two sisters, Linda Solomon of Guttenberg and Lorna Thomas of Circleville, Ohio,

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial: Guttenberg City Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Tuecke-Allyn's.
