Garnavillo-- Oscar William Alvin Troester, 89, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, Guttenberg, after a brief illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, by the Rev. Dr. Ronald Yarnell. Burial: Garnavillo City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and after noon Monday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerne; children, Thelma Madden of Rockwell, Donna Martin of Mason City and Mark Troester of Garnavillo; two brothers, LeVerne and Roland, both of Guttenberg; and a sister, Berdina Duwe of Guttenberg.
