McGregor, Ia. - Harvey Schriver, young McGregor farmer, died at Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago Tuesday morning, where he had been taken in an effort to save a foot mangled in a haying accident on his farm Friday evening. He was on a load of hay when the load started to slip and to save himself he jumped. He twisted his foot, breaking ankle bones and severing ligaments and muscles.

Schriver and his wife for a number of years operated barber shop and beauty parlor in McGregor. Two years ago he entered the Army, but recently, having reached the age of 38, he was given an honorable discharge to go home and operate his farm and help his father in the management of his home farm.

Besides his wife, surviving are his parents, three sisters, and three brothers. Two brothers are in the service.

McGregor, Ia - Services for Harvey Schriver, 38, McGregor farmer, were held Friday morning in the Methodist Church here. The Rev. E.H. Shuey conducted the services. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, parents, three sisters and three brothers.
