Cowles, Anna (Huntting) 1857-1944

McGregor, Ia. - Graveside services for Mrs. Anna Cowles, 86, were held in Pleasant Grove Cemetery here Friday, the Rev. E.H. Shuey, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Cowles was born in McGregor, Dec. 23, 1857, the daughter of W.F. Huntting, leading grain merchant of Northeast Iowa in early days. She was married to C.W. Cowles of McGregor, and this was here home until recent years when she went to Minneapolis to live. She died in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon. James Huntting, nephew of Mrs. Cowles, and Mrs. Huntting, of Austin, Minn., accompanied the remains to McGregor for burial.

Surviving are a son, Charles Cowles, of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Huntting, of Chicago, and Charles Huntting, of Minneapolis; and a sister, Mrs. P.R. Boole, of Milwaukee.
