Guttenberg, Ia. - Funeral services for Louis Henry Beerman, 81, who died at his home Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness, will be held at the American Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. Dromes will officiate, and burial will be in the City Cemetery.
Mr. Beerman was born on Dec. 23, 1862, in Hanover, Germany, and came to America with his parents in 1867. He was married April 9, 1887, to Mathilda Mueller, in St. John's Lutheran Church here.
He operated a ferry boat between Guttenberg and Glen Haven for 35 years, and was a member of the town council for 24 years. He also served on the school board, and was a member of the M.W.A.
He is survived by a son, Ewald, of Webter City, Ia., and two daughters, Hilda Strong, of Long Beach, Calif., and Lydia Overbeck, of Guttenberg.
