Clarence Fischer

Services for Clarence J. Fischer, 77, of Guttenberg were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at St. John Lutheran Church and were conducted by the Rev. L. R. Lockner.

Mr. Fischer died early Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 1988 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, rural Osterdock.

He was born May 15, 1911 in Postville. His parents were Otto and Eva Moetsch Fischer. He was married Dec. 4, 1939 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, to Arlene Moser. He was an oil distributor for 42 years.

Preceding him in death were his mother in 1916, his father in 1966, his step-mother, Mrs. Ida Fischer in 1969 and a sister, Mrs. Burnell (Ora) Anderson in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; 2 sons, LaDean Fischer and Lee Fischer, both of Guttenberg; 4 grandchildren; two great-grandsons, and a brother, Harold of Roseville, CA.

Pallbearers: Burnell Reinitz, Russell Reinitz, Jim Hansel, Mike Jaquette, Bob Livingston and Butch Borman.
