Elgin Echo, Thur., 5 Nov. 1903.

Last Sunday evening at 7 o'clock occurred the death of Mary Schnieder at the home of her brother Joe Schnieder, Sr., in her (looks like 66th) year. She was born in Switzerland and came to this part of the country a good many years ago, and has lived among friends and relatives all through her life, and was loved and respected by all who knew her and was always kind and helpful and did for others all she could. She leaves a brother, a sister and many friends to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at the Apostolic church Wednesday afternoon.

NOTE: As there are no entries for the surname Schnieder in WPA or the IGPP this submitter suspects the newspaper printed a variation of the surname Schneider. See the WPA record for Jacob Schneider and the IGPP gravestone photo of Jacob and Mary Ann Schneider in the Dunkard cemetery in Marion township for a possible connection. More research is needed.
