Deceased Name: Francis Ludovissy

GUTTENBERG, Iowa - Francis "Duke" Ludovissy was born the son of Joseph and Theresa (Welty) Ludovissy on Nov. 5, 1924, in North Buena Vista. He died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the Guttenberg (Iowa) Municipal Hospital, following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Buena Vista, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Buena Vista. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg. Friends also may call from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ludovissy was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works for 32 years. He also farmed with his family.

He married Louise Schrunk on March 9, 1946, in Guttenberg.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Buena Vista, and Eagles Aerie 4114.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; six daughters, Connie (Jack) Harbaugh, Jerri (Doug) McGuine, Julie (Art) Willie and Cindy (Pat) Wachendorf, all of Guttenberg, Jane (John) Johnson, of Kenosha, Wis., and Dixie (Paul) Beckman, of Monticello; a sister, Mary Engling, of North Buena Vista; two brothers, Walter (Laurie) Ludovissy, of North Buena Vista, and Clarence (Madonna) Ludovissy, of Guttenberg; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; a sister-in-law, Kathy Ludovissy, of North Buena Vista; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Nick Wachendorf and Jackie Harbaugh; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Funk and Kendra Harbaugh; two brothers, Joseph and Celestine; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Engling.
