GUTTENBERG, Iowa - Vincent H. Hefel, 74, of Guttenberg, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at home following a sudden illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Buena Vista, with Monsignor John McClean officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Buena Vista. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.
He worked in agriculture as a farmer, in construction and for the railroad.
He was born on June 4, 1925, near North Buena Vista, son of the late John and Marie (Ludovissy) Hefel.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. JeanAnn (John) Bonk, of Finlayson, Minn., and Mrs. Sherie (Todd) Langel, of Luxemburg; four sons, Mr. Gary (Peggy) Hefel, of Rockford, Ill., Mr. Roger (Becky) Hefel, of Guttenberg, Mr. Dave (Kathy) Hefel, of Dubuque, and Mr. Larry (Kathy) Hefel, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hilda (Gerry) Engelken, of New Vienna; three brothers, Mr. Lawrence (Alice) Hefel, of Sherrill, Mr. Bernard (Adeline) Hefel, of Dubuque, and Mr. Eugene (Betty) Hefel, of Balltown; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; a daughter, Carol; and four brothers, Tony, Philip, Mick and Lou.
