Services for Frank G. Hefel, 59, of North Buena Vista, Iowa, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church at North Buena Vista. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Dyersville American Legion Post 137.
Friends may call until 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Behr's, where the scripture wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. Members of the American Legion are asked to meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home for memorial services.
Mr. Hefel died at 2:45 p.m. Monday at the Guttenberg, Iowa, Municipal Hospital. He was born in North Buena Vista, (28 Jul 1920) where he formerly owned and operated a tavern. He was more recently a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the American legion, a lifetime member of Guttenberg Amvets Post No. 15, and a World War II Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Boyce, and three sisters, Mrs. Leo (Frances) Errthum of Holy Cross, Iowa, Mrs. Nora Ruden of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Art (Clara) Ludovissy of Dubuque.
