Elgin Echo, Thur., 5 March 1903.

John Jessen, one of the pioneer merchants of Strawberry Point, died at his home in that city last week, Monday, after an illness of a few minutes duration. His funeral occurred on the 26th inst. All the business houses there closed in order to give all an opportunity to attend the obsequy.
