Wm. Strochen, an aged farmer living in Volga township, Clayton county, arose from his bed went out into the kitchen and killed himself with a shot gun.

The news arrived here Monday morning that Wm. Stroschen, who lives about five miles from town, committed suicide by shooting. Coroner Griffin was on the scene Monday afternoon and investigation showed that after his family had retired he placed the barrel of the gun to his chest below the ribs while sitting in a chair and touched off the trigger with a ramrod. Monday morning when his family got up they found him dead in the chair. He was about 74 years of age and in good health.
